Preserving Indigenous Seed Varieties: The Foundation's Conservation Journey

Since its establishment in 1994, the Foundation has focused on the conservation of indigenous seed varieties. During the early years, the GREEN team traveled great distances in search of rare indigenous seed varieties. Each time a new variety was discovered, it was eagerly brought back to the research farm in Thalli for multiplication and further experimentation. These initial trials formed the solid groundwork for the Foundation's conservation efforts. Today, numerous indigenous seed varieties have been reintroduced in farming areas where they had almost disappeared. https://greenfoundation.in/in-situ-and-ex-situ-conservation
